Accessing your webshop via your own domain

With this module you can give the shop a professional look by making it accessible through your own domain name, such as webshop.myflowercompany.nl or shop.flowers4sale.com.

Without this module, your webshop will be available through one of the standard URLs we use, for example:

• flowercompany.freshportal.com (webshop V2) or
• flowercompany.freshportal.shop (webshop V3)

SSL security
This module also includes additional security by installing an SSL certificate (for the domain of your webshop), with which all data, including the login data of the webshop user, are sent safely encrypted over the Internet.

Apply for a webshop under your own domain and SSL-security
Follow the steps below to give your webshop a professional look and add high-level security.

1. Request a quote via sales@freshportal.com and indicate what the desired URL (address) should be.
   Note: the domain must be in your possession and you must have access to the environment where you can manage the domain and DNS, often called a dashboard or control panel. In some cases you might need to contact your provider, or check if your internal IT department can arrange this for you.
2. If you still have to purchase your own domain name, or want to move an existing one, we can arrange that for you. Please contact FreshPortal Solutions.
3. After agreeing to the quote you will receive a confirmation from us and we will get to work. So what will we do?
   1. We will make the technical preparations and start the application for an SSL certificate.
   2. This certificate must be approved (validated) by the owner of the domain name, this can be done in 2 ways:
      1. In the DNS of the domain you need to add a specific TXT record, which you will receive from us, to the domain.
      2. During the SSL certificate request we will send an email to an email address at the domain in question (i.e. info@myflowercompany.nl), follow the instructions in this email to approve the request.
   3. After we have received the approval we will attach the SSL certificate to your webshop.
4. You are now almost done... You only need to connect your webshop to our cloud environment.

Final step: linking your webshop (DNS adjustment)
To make your shop truly accessible to the outside world, you must complete the following steps. Ask your IT department or provider for help if this is too technical for you.

1. Log back into your provider's dashboard or control panel.
2. In the section for DNS management, create a so-called CNAME record. For example in the case of webshop V3:
   webshop.flowercompany.com CNAME fps-webshop-v3.freshportal.com
   Always use the data we give you, the previous line is an example!
3. Once these changes have been made, please let us know and we will confirm that your shop is ACTIVE under your own domain name.
